On Thursday November 21st 2024, over 40 members of the sporting community in Invermere joined the High Performance Speaker Series with PacificSport Columbia Basin at Copper City Physical Therapy to hear Canadian Para-Alpine Head Coach Will Marshall and Mental Performance Coach Stuart Munro speak about how and what mental performance elements that have brought into the Canadian Para-Alpine Ski Team.

We learned from Will about how they embedded mental performance skills into the culture of the team to create long-term sustainable practices and followed along as Stuart, a high performance psychologist and owner of Minds2Perform, spoke to the small details and acute changes they empower the athletes to make on a daily basis on and off the hill.

We had athletes, coaches and parents from Alpine Ski Racing, Freestyle Skiing, Grappling, Gymnastics, Snowboard, Soccer and Volleyball learning about the teams holistic approach and long-term commitment to building resilient people first and athletes second, was supported with a wealth of information from Stuart and real-time application experience from Will. The information they shared can be applied to any age group in multiple sports!
Big thank you to everyone that attended and participated in the High Performance Speaker series. PSCB appreciates Copper City Physical Therapy for sharing their amazing space downtown and for Will and Stuart to take time out of their busy training camp to share their experiences and knowledge.
