Officials and technical leaders are an integral part of sport
It is clear that in the amateur sport sector we need to support, develop, and foster officials in our communities. Officials and referees are a fundamental component of sport competition.
Sports across the Columbia Basin are grappling with match official shortages that are impacting the ability to create competitive opportunities for children and youth to participate in organized sport.
The challenges and solutions are not quick fixes. As a sport sector leader for the region, PacificSport Columbia Basin has a significant role to play to help address these challenges.
This recent discussion at the 2022 Sport Canada Research Initiative serves as a foundation for developing a strategy that will support the unique needs of our communities.
