James is a passionate advocate, proponent and leader for the sport sector with vast experience from grass roots to the Olympic Podium. He has a Masters in Exercise Physiology and a Diploma in Business Administration. Over the past 15 years he has worked as a Physiologist with the Canadian Sport Institute Pacific, in a Senior Management role with UBC Athletics, and as a Podium Pathway Advisor with Own the Podium and the Canadian Paralympic Committee.

James has worked with dozens of Olympic and Paralympic athletes in both the laboratory and in the field. He has particular expertise in environmental physiology; heat and altitude physiology, growth and maturation, and injury prevention.
