Description: The Trail-Rossland 2026 BC Winter Games was not only committed to hosting an exceptional athletic experience to the Province of BC’s best young athletes but also to leaving a legacy in our Host Communities.
Purpose: To expand the legacy of the Trail-Rossland 2026 BC Winter Games by distributing surplus funds to deserving groups within the Host Communities (Trail, Rossland, Castlegar, Warfield, Beaver Valley) aligned with the community development impact of the Games.
Objectives: To provide funding to Youth Oriented Organizations and Venues to support their endeavors and betterment, and continuation of their opportunities to youth in our communities
Parameters: Legacy funds will be prioritized to those organizations that emphasize the following criteria:
Promotion of Youth Development in:
● Sports
● Coaching/Officiating/Mentoring
● Retention of Girls in Sports
● Retention and Inclusion of Under-represented Groups in Sports
● Community Youth or Service Groups
● The Arts and Culture Organizations, clubs, etc. must be active in the Host Communities (as outlined above).
Additional Information: Total Funds allocated will be broken down accordingly:
● 75% to Sport Organizations as defined by the BC Games Society (list of sports eligible to receive funds – BC’s Accredited, Recognized & Affiliated Sports | viaSport)
● 25% Other Organizations and Service Groups
Organizations are expected to secure additional funding from other sources for the submitted project, however, the Trail-Rossland Legacy Fund Committee will consider funding 100% of the project under specific circumstances. Capital and project-related purchases will be prioritized over ongoing administrative / operational costs.

If your organization is committed to youth in our area and your mandate is within the parameters identified above, please submit online by clicking Expression of Interest by June 15, 2026. Please submit the EXPRESSION OF INTEREST form to include a brief description of your organization, a brief description of the project and the approximate dollar amount to be funded.
Successful expression of interest organizations will be invited to submit an online application form. The Online application form must be submitted by Sept. 15, 2026 @ 12:00 pm (PST). Applications will be reviewed and finalized by the end of September 2026.
