Register now for the All Youth Matter free workshop at the College of the Rockies, March 30, 2026 from 5-8pm MT.

All Youth Matter program developed by viaSportBC, is a practical, interactive inclusion workshop that equips leaders to create safer, more welcoming environments for youth who face barriers to participation. In 3 hours, participants build a shared foundation of inclusion concepts, reflect on bias, and develop realistic strategies they can apply in their role and setting.

What you will learn:

Define inclusion and marginalization
Recognize unconscious bias and how it can influence interactions
Identify individual characteristics and opportunities to connect with youth

Framework for Youth Inclusion

Learn the Framework for Youth Inclusion
Apply the framework to your context, role, and day-to-day behaviour

Strategies for action

Identify barriers to participation and ways to reduce them
Practice strategies to intervene and help stop discrimination or exclusionCreate an action plan and identify ways to bring others along

Who is it for?

All Youth Matter is designed for leaders and staff at all levels, from executive to front-line roles. While it was originally

developed for sport, recreation, and physical activity settings, it has also been delivered in education and other youth-serving sectors, with examples that can be adapted to fit your context.

Evidence and impact:

In a 2019 evaluation (845 learners across 54 workshops), over 96% reported feeling more confident about inclusion and over 99% anticipated using the knowledge and skills gained. Over 97% said they would recommend the training.
